Michael Gray and Randy Orsini have been
working side by side as partners in the electric
business for 21 years. Their DBA (doing
business as) certificate was filed in 1993 as
Orsini and Gray Electrical Contractors, but
everyone knows them as Orsini Electric.
In April, Orsini officially retired. Gray
is now seated at the helm, and as a result,
the company name is changing. Gray has
been updating the vehicle signs, website,
advertising and necessary state documents
to reflect the company’s new name, MTG Electric LLC.
MTG presently employs one other electrician
and will continue to service commercial
and residential customers. Gray said
over the years he and Orsini developed a
strong customer base in the Saratoga area
and to points as far north as Lake Placid.
The company presently has 12 steady
commercial customers and numerous
repeat residential customers, according
to Gray.
“That is plenty for a two-man operation,”
Gray said. “On the commercial side, we’ve
done a lot of work for Time Warner cable
and recently worked for a Dollar Tree Store
in Ticonderoga. On the residential side, I’d
say we get about 100 calls a year.”
Gray’s workdays have extending into the
evenings because he is responsible for the
paperwork, billing, ordering material and
meeting with the accountant.
“Randy was the office guy. Now, I am
handling that part of the business, too. It’s
busy around here,” he said. “At some point, I’ll want to handle just all of the paperwork
and stop crawling in those attic spaces.”
The company has not ventured into the
new housing construction market, nor does
Gray have plans to go that direction, he said.
“I am not planning to expand at this point,”
said Gray. “I like the feel of a small company.
I can keep a handle on things and provide our
customers with the quality workmanship they
receive when they hire us. We pride ourselves
on the quality of our work.”
For residential customers, the company
offers rewiring and new wire installation,
landscape lighting, service and panel
upgrades, subpanels, electrical outlet repairs,
installation of new outlets, cable TV
or phone jacks, and breaker and fuse box
replacements.
MTG also is available 24/7 for residential
electrical emergencies or power outages.
For commercial customers, MTG can
“power up” a building with new electrical
systems and upgrades, wiring, lighting, cabling,
energy saving solutions, power distribution,
electrical repairs and installations,
routine electrical maintenance, and bucket
truck service for lighting maintenance.
