For people in need an office in downtown
Saratoga Springs, Elizabeth Burke
advises them to “put your bag down,
plug into the Wifi and get to work” at the
Hub@63 Putnam, a suite of offices, conference
rooms and informal work space
available for rent.
The business offers space rented by the
hour, the day, the week, the month or for a
period of six months or more.
Burke is the Hub’s coordination manager
for the owners, 63 Putnam LLC.
The Hub is 75 to 80 percent occupied, she
said. Long-term tenants include a financial
planner, a marketing company, the Saratoga
city attorney, two other attorneys, the Dynamic
Solar project at Skidmore College
and Saratoga Potato Chips.
Short-term uses include real estate closings, board meetings, seminars and short courses, as well as people who just need a place to work temporarily.
The Hub refers to its tenants as “members” and promises “a network to help grow your business.” Rents include utilities, except telephone, and office services such as photocopying, printing, faxing, reception and telephone answering services.
Burke said there are 25 executive offices, ranging in size from 10 feet by 10 feet, to 18 feet by 18 feet. There are two small conference rooms and two large conference rooms. A semi-private room with counter space to accommodate four to six people at a time is under construction.
The business is located on the top floor of the 63 Putnam building, just off Broadway and connected to Broadway by a heated walkway. City parking is available in lots nearby. The parking in the building itself is currently all rented, Burke said.
Rents range from $400 per month for a small windowless office, to $1,375 per month for a large corner office with a view. Day charges range from $50 to $80, depending upon the support services needed, or, for $400 per month, people can walk in and work whenever they please.
For teleworkers, Burke said the Hub offers a quieter and more convenient alternative to a coffee shop and fewer distractions than a home office.
“We are very committed to the success of our members,” Burke said. Among other things, she will help members network with one another.
An open house and ribbon-cutting are being planned for early May. Information about the Hub is available at www.63Putnam.com or by telephone at 631-2347.
