The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce
will hold a human resources seminar
from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the
chamber office, 28 Clinton St., Saratoga
Springs.
The session is free of charge.
With the changing landscape of regulations
and enforcement priorities, employer
practices that may have seemed like common
sense several years ago may now subject
your company to unnecessary potential
liability.
At the seminar, Mike Billok, of Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC will discuss errors that many employers make because they are simply not aware of the changing legal landscape. Questions will include: Have you ever brought on an unpaid intern because you had some unskilled work to be done, and figured an intern would be ideal? When an employee has left your company, have you taken out any money from the employee’s last paycheck that he or she has owed you? Have you ever told employees not to share their salary or pay information with anyone else?
