Hudson River Community Credit
Union collected approximately 30,000 pounds
of unwanted electronics during its branchwide
second annual Community Electronics
Recycling Drive on April 20.
Members and local residents dropped off
their unusable or unwanted television sets,
VCRs, air conditioners and stereos as well as
vacuum cleaners, car batteries and more for
free at each of the Credit Union’s five local
branches for recycling by HRCCU’s electronics
recycling partner, Scrapster of Watervliet.
Ed Behan, AVP of marketing and communications
for HRCCU, said the event resulted in more
than twice the amount of material collected last
fall and has already exceeded the amount of electronics
collected for recycling from all of last year.
“As a Community Credit Union, we are here to
provide support to our local communities”, said.
HRCCU will be hosting another Electronics
Recycling Drive at its branches again this fall.
