Mazzone Hospitality has merged with
Colonie-based Classe Catering to expand
offerings, venues, and geographical reach.
is “designed to further cement the company’s
reputation as the premier caterer
in the Capital Region.”
The merger is effective immediately. The joining of the two companies will result in new catering venues and product lines, expanded teams and talent, greater customization and enhanced business purchasing power, officials said.
“Catering is the backbone of our business and we’re thrilled to enhance and expand our services by merging with another of the Capital Region’s leading caterers,” said Mazzone Hospitality owner Angelo Mazzone.
“The creative synergy resulting from this merger will afford us greater customization and flexibility to meet the needs of current and future clients.”
“By combining the big-venue expertise of Mazzone Hospitality with the off-site services of Classe Catering, we have created a single, premier, full-service catering operation,” said Classe Catering President Brian Palazzolo. “I have no doubt this merger will result in an unparalleled product for all clients ranging from large weddings to express catering for business meetings and events.”
Officials said Mazzone Hospitality will take the operating position of Classe’s custom production facility on Petra Lane in Colonie. Palazzolo will serve as a consultant for Mazzone Hospitality. He has nearly two decades of industry experience and is a nationally recognized expert as a consultant for Catersource, the largest catering organization in the united States.
All employees from both companies will be retained and the merged entity will include more than 800 full- and part-time staff.
Officials said upcoming special events and weddings will proceed without interruption in service or point of contact for clients. Total revenue for the merged companies will exceed $33 million.
Mansion Catering is primarily known for servicing major weddings and events at such well-known regional venues as the Hall of Springs, Glen Sanders Mansion and key Hall at Proctors.
Through its Prime Business Dining division, Mazzone services large accounts including GlobalFoundries, Golub Headquarters and Ayco Café.
Mazzone said Classe Catering is the ideal complement because of its off-site catering and a state-of-the-art production facility. Classe also adds an event marketing element, new venues including 11 North Pearl in Albany, and new product lines such as express catering, Big kaHoona Barbecue and “theme” menus.
Additionally, Classe extends Mazzone’s geographical footprint to Cooperstown, the Hudson Valley, Western Massachusetts and as far north as Lake Placid.
