Patrick Miles, owner of Accurate Chiropractic,
recently joined The Garden, a central place
In Saratoga Springs for people to get various
kinds of physical care.
On premises at The Garden, 434 Church St.,
there are two massage therapists, an acupuncturist,
an aesthetician and chiropractic care.
A strong family history in the medical field,
including his grandmother who was a nurse for
over 60 years, and the love for a brother with disabilities,
is what lead Miles into chiropractic care.
Miles started Accurate Chiropractic in October of 2012, working three days a week in Saratoga and three days in Massachusetts. As of the start of 2013, he practices solely in Saratoga, six days a week.
“I have met some great people in Saratoga since moving here. The people are one of the great things about this town, very open and friendly,” he said. ” I am glad I had the experiences I did for the last 12 years out of the area, but very happy to now call Saratoga home. I am very happy to be closer to friends and family, and better able to help the people I treat.”
Miles offers a number of different services. He said benefits from chiropractic services include relief from chronic headaches, plantar fasciitis or pain in the bottom of a patient’s feet, sciatica, carpel tunnel, herniated discs or people who just lifted the groceries wrong and are in pain. “Weekend warriors” and those with repetitive motion jobs, as well as car accident victims, pregnant women, dancers, musicians and athletes can also benefit from chiropractic care.
Miles hopes that at Accurate he’ll be able to form a more personal relationship with his patients and get to know them and their lifestyles a bit better. He said learning someone’s activities can help pinpoint the cause of some of their problems.
“knowing your patient is lifting their aged parent into bed nightly, works at a job that requires constant bending or has to carry groceries up three flights of stairs can help with diagnosis and treatment,” Miles said.
While traditional medicine is important, he believes chiropractic is a different way of looking at health. Sometimes the root cause of an issue is not addressed, for whatever reason, and is masked by the use of medication.
A graduate of Hudson Falls High School, Miles received his bachelor’s in multiple sciences with a concentration in biology and a minor in philosophy at Le Moyne College in Syracuse. He went received his doctorate of chiropractic from the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls.
He started work at Valley Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in Holyoke, Mass., as an associated chiropractor. In 2011, Valley opened an office in Springfield, Mass., and Miles split time between the two offices.
When his wife, Carissa, was hired at Skidmore College, he returned to the area.
