Friday night I ventured to Duo on Broadway in Saratoga for dinner.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised with the

changes they have made since the last time I had been in there, prior to it being

Duo. The ambiance is intimate, with dim lighting and a spacious set

up. The waitstaff is extremely attentive, handing out warm towels to

clean your hands when you first sit down. It’s really a nice

atmosphere, whether you’re with a friend or on a hot date.

The

menu had so much to offer, it took almost 20 minutes for me to decide

what I wanted to order. Finally, I decided on a sweet potato roll and

philadelphia roll, two personal favorites of mine.

Sweet potato roll (left, $5) and philadelphia roll (right, $6).

The

sweet potato roll includes warm sweet potato tempura, wrapped in

traditional seaweed and rice. The philadelphia roll has salmon, cream

cheese, and avacado, a little variation from the ones I usually get, but

I enjoyed it very much. Another thing I love about Duo is that they

add sesame seeds to the outside of the rolls, which just added another

touch of delicious to the already wonderful food.

My gal pal Al Bal (shout out!) went for something way outside of the box, the Mummy Roll

($13): Shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with lobster salad, seared

pepper tuna, and avocado. Served with a spicy citrus sauce.

The

pictures of the these rolls don’t even do them justice. Thankfully, Alyssa was generous enough to share this masterpiece with me. The mummy roll

is hands down the best sushi roll I’ve ever tried. The shrimp tempura

and cucumber add a crunch and texture that perfectly compliments the

avacado, lobster, and tuna.

It’s clear they know what they’re

doing at Duo. I truly have no criticism for this restaurant. The menu

was even reasonably priced, with an additional california roll and one

delightful alcoholic beverage, the bill’s grand total was under $41.00.

I

enjoyed this meal immensely. I truly did. I highly highly highly

recommend going to duo and hopefully you will leave as satisfied as I

did.
