I’m not one to be negative as I’m sure you’re all aware of by now, but there’s just some places I avoid at this point. After living in the area for over 18 years, I’ve been around the block a few times (to all the area restaurants of course) and it’s become common for me to say no let’s go somewhere else when approaching Bailey’s. For that, I am sorry, because this last time I tried it I wasn’t upset or dissatisfied. In fact, I was surprised and full of glee.

Let me set things straight for everyone. I’ve always thought highly of Bailey’s for a number of reasons. I think the place is a hot spot in the summer with their large outdoor seating area, the live entertainment they get every week and the drinks and drink specials that are available on the regular. Even the desserts at Bailey’s are talked about around town, including the fondue (love love love). So don’t think I’m a total negative nancy because I have always found good things about the place, just never the food.

Until now. Jumping into things, it was the final four, I wanted beer, I wanted fries and I wanted a nice juicy sandwich. I wanted chicken but feared it would come out tasting and feeling like a plastic chew toy. I went with my gut anyway and ordered the southern chicken sandwich.

Please excuse my instagram shot, iPhone was all I had at the time.

The sandwich was phenomenal, no joke. Besides it being cooked perfectly, every other component was fantastic as well. The melted swiss cheese, the chives, the ranch dressing. Not to mention the french fries, which were crispy and greasy and delicious as well. This sandwich gets an A for awesome because it was!

I will go on the record right now by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed my

meal at Bailey’s Cafe and would be delighted to go back again. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, or in this case a restaurant by it’s previous let downs several years prior.

Go out and try this place – let me know what your experience is like!
