Bridal dress shopping turned into girls night with my mom and sister
where we ended up at Cafe Capriccio. One of the newest additions to
Saratoga’s huge population of restaurants, it’s been on my list since it
opened. The restaurant itself has limited space, but provides an
intimate and romantic setting. Dimly lit with candlelight at each
table, the atmosphere is pretty great for any group/couple wanting to
enjoy a nice, relaxing meal.
The menu has an excellent selection, which is what I like to see at
restaurants like this. Not too many, but not too few. So we decided to
get three different items and all share, which couldn’t have been a
greater idea once we tasted each dish.
If you haven’t caught on by now, if I have the option of getting
eggplant, it will happen. We decided on the appetizer eggplant with four cheeses.
This came out perfectly golden in a sea of sauce. It was nicely
plated, a little heavy on the sauce but so delicious. The cheese was
still bubbly and the edges were a little crispy.
We also ordered the brussels sprouts and pancetta pizza, an
incredible combination of the slightly bitter, slightly sweet brussels
sprout and the savory, salty pancetta. This was topped with a generous
amount of pecorino cheese and a drizzle of olive oil. The pizza was so
light yet ever so satisfying. I probably could’ve eaten the whole thing
if I didn’t have to share.
Ahhhh… finally, the chicken contadina da rosina (wood roasted chicken in lemon and oregano seasoning).
Ummm this picture does not do this masterpiece justice. How do you
feel when you taste a moist, flavorful, juicy piece of chicken? Well,
triple that feeling and that’s what you get when you taste the chicken
at Capriccio. I’m not exaggerating, and I would not talk like this if it
hadn’t been so amazing. When you make your way to Cafe Capriccio, make
sure that someone in your group gets this meal.
There are so many reasons to go try Cafe Capriccio, so just do it already. What are you waiting for?
