Sorry this post is over a week after the event, but it’s necessary
that I highlight how AWESOME this event truly was. Hosted by Chef
Angelo Mazzone, Saratoga P.L.A.N put on it’s 4th annual feast of the
fields, and event dedicated to featuring local chefs prepare our local
farmers produce! Hattie’s, Prime at Saratoga National Golf Club,
Maestro’s at The Van Dam, The Beekman Street Bistro, Sperry’s, 9 Miles
East Farm, Augie’s and The Cupcake Lab were all participants.
Please bare with me if I don’t specify what was in each dish, but I will do the best to decipher.
Augie’s was serving up their famous eggplant rollotini, fresh eggplant, ricotta cheese, tomato sauce and mozzarella:
Delicious, as always. Augie’s was also serving up some fresh local
fruit, ripe canteloupe and raspberries drizzled with a sweet cream
sauce:
Next stop for me was Sperry’s, where Chef Dale Miller prepared a
miniature Thanksgiving feast! His dish included moist and tender turkey
accompanied by a fabulous stuffing topped with some homemade gravy.
This was legit like Thanksgiving in my mouth and I thoroughly enjoyed
every second of it.
I then ventured to another area, where I found Prime’s offerings, an
incredible potato gratin served with goat cheese and fresh herbs.
There are so many other restaurants I wish I could’ve highlighted and
taken pictures of, but unfortunately my hands were too full with food!!
This event is my new favorite in Saratoga Springs. Proceeds
went to conserve farmland, natural areas, trail corridors and historic
places in Saratoga County. How can you not want to come out and support
such great causes and at the same time enjoy such fantastic food? I know I’m officially making it tradition to attend this event every year, and I
hope to see all of you next year as well at the feast of the fields.
