What day is the Belmont Stakes?
The 157th running of the Belmont Stakes is on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The Belmont Stakes Racing Festival takes place from Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 8, 2025.
What can I bring into the racetrack?
Make sure you're prepared by reviewing the list of permitted and prohibited items. Some rules vary by date, so check carefully before you go.
General Permitted Items
Guests are allowed to bring the following items on all festival days:
- Outside food and soft drinks
- One folding chair per person
- Coolers no larger than 12" x 18" (limit one per guest)
- Baby or diaper bags (must contain childcare items and be accompanied by a child)
- Bags and purses no larger than 16" x 16" x 8"
- Binoculars
- Cell phones and tablets (subject to screening)
- Seat cushions
- Small cameras with detachable lenses that are 6 inches or less
- Strollers (only if carrying a child)
- Sunscreen
- Personal-sized umbrellas
Additional Permitted Items on Wednesday, June 4 and Sunday, June 8 Only
On these two dates, guests are also allowed to bring:
- Outside alcohol (in non-glass containers only)
- Folding tables
- Pop-up tents
- Hand carts and wagons
Banned Items (All Festival Dates)
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests, the following items are prohibited throughout the entire festival:
- Aerosol cans
- Air horns or other noise makers
- Animals (except service animals)
- Devices that may distract or interfere with participants
- Flammable liquids
- Backpacks
- Bags larger than 16" x 16" x 8"
- Cameras with detachable lenses longer than 6 inches
- Video or audio recording equipment
- Confetti or glitter
- Drones or remote-controlled aircraft
- Fireworks
- Glass or aluminum bottles
- Grills or lighter fluid
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Laser lights or pointers
- Poles, staffs, or sticks
- Skateboards, hoverboards, or recreational devices (except ADA-approved)
- Sports equipment (including balls and frisbees)
- Tripods or professional camera gear
- Weapons (including firearms, knives, mace, and pepper spray)
When do the parking gates open?
The parking gates open one hour before admission gates each day.
What parking options are available?
Parking is not included with tickets and must be purchased separately. Parking passes for all four days are available now and highly encouraged.
Furthermore, parking will be sold one a first-come, first-served basis (payable by credit card only). NYRA will offer a bus shuttle from the parking lots to the entrance.
The free CDTA Saratoga Summer Trolley will also be operational each day of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, transporting fans between downtown Saratoga and the racetrack.

Note: Parking is available in downtown Saratoga as well. Paid summer parking in downtown Saratoga does not begin until June 10.

Will the 2025 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival be cashless?
Yes, the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival will be cashless for many purchases, including food and drinks, admissions, and parking. Credit and debit cards will be accepted.
Note: Cash can be used for wagering on horse races while at the track.

What race is the Belmont Stakes?
