Don't Miss Plein Air Paint Out During SaratogaArtsFest
SARATOGA SPRINGS NY - Crowds gather around local artists as they participate in the Plein Air Paint Out. The phrase plein air is a French expression meaning in the open air. Artists from Albany, Saratoga, Troy, Glens Falls and other surrounding regions set up their easels and blank canvases outside, along the streets of downtown Saratoga Springs, where they prepare for hours of painting. By the light of the afternoon sun, these artists paint in the open air, creating masterpieces before the eyes of admiring onlookers.
Plein Air Paint Out is just one of the many exciting events during the annual SaratogaArtsFest. Many artists, performers and vendors draw in throngs of people with their entertaining performances, events, promotions and exhibitions. From fine arts to music to dance to film to theater, the arts are highly esteemed and greatly appreciated in downtown Saratoga Springs during this ever-popular festival.
Saratoga Arts Fest Paint Out 2010
June 11-12, 2010
Artists over 18 years of age will participate in this year's exciting plein air Paint Out in downtown Saratoga Springs on June 11th and 12th. Artists will be assigned to paint on Broadway or along the winding paths of Congress Park in Saratoga Springs. Each will be required to complete at least one piece of art over the two-day period. The completed works of art will go on exhibit for public viewing and sale on June 13th.
The times for SaratogaArtsFest Paint Out are as follows:
Friday, June 11th: 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday, June 12th: 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Paint Out Reception: Sunday, June 13th: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the House of Creative Soul
