Remember Natalia F. Hogan
The Natalia F. Hogan Memorial Scholarship Fund
Natalia Caroline Fox Hogan was a Saratoga Springs High School teacher, coach, athlete, friend, mother and mentor to so many. She passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2009 during a Saratoga Springs city charity bike race at the age of 40.
Hogan was an active member in the Saratoga community. She was very athletic, spending numerous hours playing hockey and instructing children at the Saratoga Springs Ice Skating Rink, participating and volunteering in local cycling events, running and snowshoeing just to name a few of the activities she participated in. She was such a passionate person, and always gave her all in everything she did.
She died suddenly during the final stretch of a bike race, from what onlookers described as "seizure-like" symptoms, that caused her to fall off her bike.
She began her teaching in 1999, teaching junior and senior high school English at Saratoga Springs High School and served as an adviser to the class of 2010. Whether teaching English or riding her bike, her main goal was to make a difference in a student's life. Natalia's family has set up a scholarship fund to continue the work she started during her time with us.
A portion of the proceeds of the LUNAFEST silent auction will be donated to The Natalia F. Hogan Memorial Scholarship Fund.
