Flower & Fruit Mission
Nonprofit Spotlight On The Flower & Fruit Mission Of Saratoga Hospital
The Flower and Fruit Mission has been providing support and services to expectant Saratoga mothers and their babies since 1904. The volunteers of this 35-member organization conduct benefits throughout the year to support the William J. Hickey Women's Services Unit of Saratoga Hospital. Their efforts have resulted in significant donations of state-of-the-art equipment and educational resources:
- Fetal monitor
- Neonatal infusion pump
- Funding for advanced nursing education
The most recent goal of the Flower and Fruit Mission was to help provide the hospital with a Noelle Simulator, a high-tech computerized mother and infant simulator used to teach and practice obstetrics in neonatal situations. The Flower and Fruit Mission also presents all new parents with "Your Family Book", a publication that offers a host of information and resources to help answer any questions they may have about caring for their newborn.
As part of their fundraising, The Mission conducts several notable events throughout the year in Saratoga, including a luncheon in the spring, a Denim and Diamond event in the fall, and a Dinner Dance the first Saturday in December.
