A New Kind Of Bar In Town

Attention ladies: Love getting your hair done? Love wine? Love spending time with your friends? You are in luck with a new style bar in Saratoga!

I just learned about The Saturday Night Style Bar happening at Hair Creations Salon in Saratoga Springs NY. Melding fun, style and relaxation under one roof, this unique concept allows the opportunity to get your hair coiffed and styled so you can look fresh and fabulous for a night out on the town.

Here's How It Works:
The last Saturday of every month, Hair Creations opens its doors from 5-8 pm for ladies to come in, pick a hairstyle from the cocktail inspired menu (the names alone are adorable), and get your hair done up. Bring your girlfriends or go solo to meet new people. You can choose anywhere from a polished updo (the "Straight Up") to the wavy bed-head inspired "Shaken-not Stirred" look. You can be in, out and on your way in just about 30 minutes. "I wanted to encourage a laidback, bar-like atmosphere so I named the menu items after well known cocktail descriptions so it would be apparent that this is about having fun - 'Come in, then Go Out'", explains Jaysie Dorman, owner of Hair Creations.

While you are getting your hair done, relax and have some wine (if you are 21 or older of course!) and spend this time to plan your night out. "Since Hair Creations is located in downtown Saratoga Springs, filled with wonderful restaurants and places to have cocktails, I thought the concept would work better if we picked a time and day that is usually dedicated to events and social outings." Jaysie said.

Jaysie's vision of the The Saturday Night Style Bar was to provide a service similar to that of Bumble and bumble's Styling Bar in Bloomingdale's in New York City. She started the style bar in the winter of 2009-2010; she and her stylists really enjoy the interaction this has allowed them and their clients have enjoyed it!

"Our experience with the Style Bar since we introduced it last fall has been extremely positive. Clients have been enjoying the insight into our styling 'secrets'. Dorman said. "We view the Style Bar as another way for us to build even stronger relationships with clients we already have and to establish new relationships with people who may be looking for something just like what we offer...It's been such a big hit that now clients are asking for a 'Bar' service appointment at other times. On top of all that, we're accomplishing what we set out to do... building relationships with people in our community and letting them know they're valued. It feels good."
