Franklin Community Center In Saratoga
The Franklin Community Center has been a contributing member of the community for over twenty years providing basic services, programs, guidance, and advocacy to those in need. The Center has remained committed to improving the quality of life for residents in a number of ways:
- A food pantry stocked completely through community donations for residents and families struggling to make ends meet, as well as a distribution center for basic clothing and household items.
- The Creative Discovery Pre-School Center program for 4 and 5-year olds provides early instruction and a focus on increasing basic skills.
- Through the generous involvement of local volunteers, Project Lift is an after school program that provides positive role models for children in grades 1-5. Daily programming includes a healthy after-school snack, activities and curriculum to assist young children in learning the valuable every-day skills they need to make healthy decisions.
- Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held regularly at their Community Room at 10 Franklin Street for those who have a desire to stop using alcohol or drugs.
In addition, information and referral services are available to assist individuals in gaining access to local programs, services, and advocacy.
The Franklin Community Center welcomes new volunteers! If you are interested in participating in the after-school program, or even assisting with yard work or maintenance for the agency's facilities, call (518) 587-9826 or for more information on how you can help.
If you'd like to make a donation, there are several ways in which you can contribute. Monetary donations and food are accepted at the Center, and arrangements for furniture donations can also be made (they work as a liaison only between donors and recipients), or you can sponsor a family during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons. Monetary contributions go directly back in to the community to fund and support our programs. For more information on how to make a donation and give back to your neighbors, e-mail
