This blog is the positive spin to my update on our nation’s
sad healthcare statistics.
I reviewed:
·the rising numbers of deaths by medication
and doctor errors·how the U.S. continues to place last in
healthcare quality among 11 nations·how one in five elderly are harmed by
doctor care instead of by their health condition·the increase in obesity rates and how the
U.S. is the world leader in the number of obese people (13% )
There are various reasons why we are getting sicker.
This includes more access to disease care as a result of health care reform
versus addressing some of the major causes of sickness.
This means…
·instead of killing cancer, we should be
preventing it·instead of racing for the cure, we should
be empowering ourselves to stay healthy
Unfortunately, the majority of the population isn’t
being educated to do this and conventional medical doctors are being trained extensively
in a broken system to prevent death, even though the tools they are using are potent
enough to cause more harm.
Therefore, we need to look at our environmental
exposures, our food choices, our lifestyles and lack of relationships to
provide us with the foundation to keep us healthy.

Mom’s Take Action and Challenge the EPA on Herbicides/Pesticides
It is known that isolation is the number one cause of
mortality from cardiovascular disease. Dean Ornish’s book, Love and
Survival: The Scientific Basis for the Healing Power of Intimacy provides
several examples of this.
Today, an example of the power of love of a mom for her
children is what may be one of the biggest igniters of change for mother earth,
the WORLD’s food supply, and our resultant health.
Organic
Consumers Association reports:
Two
activist groups, Moms Across America and Thinking Moms Revolution, want the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to recall Monsanto’s Roundup, the
most widely used herbicide/pesticide in the world. Now is the time to do it, they say, because
the EPA is conducting a registration review of glyphosate.
Representatives of the two groups
contacted the EPA to request a meeting. When the EPA ignored them, they rallied
supporters. In just three days, about 10,000 moms from all over the country
rang the phones off the hook at the EPA.
A week later, five Moms Across America leaders were sitting around a boardroom
table with nine EPA employees who have the power to recall Roundup. (1)

Making Positive Lifestyle Choices
According to Dr. Mercola:
- Other
recent research confirmed that low-intensity daily exercise leads to less
disability in old age and a longer, healthier life - Being
conscientious and striving to do things well is a personality trait that
most of the people who live the longest share - A
processed, high-sugar diet is probably the quickest route to an early
death as it promotes insulin resistance, which is a primary driver of
chronic disease–from premature aging to heart disease and cancer - There’s
compelling evidence suggesting that having a calm mind and active body are
two important ingredients for longevity. Education, and being a perpetual
student, is also strongly correlated with a longer life. (2)

The Power of Plants to Heal
Plant
Exosomes Affect Mammalian Cells Intimately
In English, this means that the
cell derived vesicles in plants show similarity to human cell vesicles. This
translates to how consuming plant materials can induce our immune system to
take up these “plant secretions” and affect how our body defends itself. These
exosomes seemed to be resistant to digestive enzyme breakdown, indicating they
can make their way to where our body needs them.
This is yet another amazing
display of nature’s wisdom. This means that food acts as medicine and its
components talk to our body.
These studies demonstrated
the power of food quality and choice on our health. Dead food deprives us of
cell fluids!
The biological
effects in a recent study as reported by GreenMedInfo
were described as follows:
- Ginger exosomes displayed anti-inflammatory and
antoxidant properties. (They induced heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and IL-10
expressed in macrophages.) - Fruit-derived exosome-like nanoparticles,
including grape and grapefruit induced an anti-inflammatory response. - All tested foods activated nuclear
translocation of Nrf2, which has an important role in anti-inflammation
and antioxidation. (3)
The above translates to how
our health truly is in our hands. It’s not that we need to stop seeing our
doctors and getting assessments, but we need to empower ourselves as to how to
stay healthy. If our bodies are in need of more “heroic” measures and drug
treatments, they will then have a foundation to stand upon.
