This Thursday, I will head to the sunny sky of Arizona for another module
in my functional medicine certification training. I am looking forward to being
immersed in studies from the experts on the biological mechanisms involved to support
healthier immune
system function. I am excited to use this information to provide additional
dietary, supplement, and lifestyle suggestions or tweaks for my clients overall
wellness.
However, before I head out, I wanted to provide you with various resources
to empower your well-being in the following ways:
1. My monthly top reads at dr-lobisco.com that I
just posted for wellness and health headlines in January.
2. My essential oils teleseminars- live on 1/27 and recordings will be
available
4. The upcoming release of my book, BreakFree
Medicine: A Systematic and Integrated Guide to Balancing Your Body, will be
on the shelves and iPads.
Recently, I posted two links on my Facebook page on the power of
essential oils for immune health.
Here are my summaries:
The
Many Benefits of Tangerine
Tangerine is a citrus oil that is high in limonene, a potent immune
boosting molecule that is currently being studied in its role of cancer
prevention. A recent rodent study showed that another tangerine compound could
help with metabolism. Specifically, mice munching on nobiletin from tangerine
oil enjoyed no consequence of a rise in their cholesterol, triglycerides,
insulin, glucose, or weight gain as their unlucky controls on the same weight-promoting
chow did.

Frankincense
Effective Against Ovarian Cancer Cells
Speaking of oils for immune health and cancer, Leicester University
researchers have demonstrated that an active component in Frankincense oil, AKBA
(acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid), could kill ovarian cancer cells in vitro.

I wish you all a happy, warm, and cozy start to February and look forward
to sharing more with you on my return.
