Should you buy organic bananas? That depends on how much of a purist you are. Yes, conventional (not organic) bananas do have pesticides as they are grown in soil with conventional fertilizers and pesticides. However of all the fruit on the market, this is one that has lower levels of pesticides.
Bananas are the perfect after school snack because they have both they are full of just enough sweet and carbs to revive the kids and are full of vitamin A, iron, potassium, fiber and phosphorus just to name a few things. Peanut butter and nut butters give them them the healthy fats they need with vitamins like vitamin E and magnesium. Peanut butter is filling too, so you won’t hear I’m hungry until dinner time!
What kind of peanut butter do we like? No stir organic peanut butter. The MaraNatha brand has a fair amount of cane sugar in it but it’s healthier than Skippy’s!
