Heart disease is the number one cause of death for all genders, across every race and ethnicity.

Yet, only a little more than half of all women are aware of this.

This may be due to the fear of breast cancer and the fact that healthcare has focused a lot on its prevention in females.

Although this is important, it does a disservice when it overshadows the fact that women have a greater risk of dying from cardiovascular disease (CVD) than all other cancers combined.

Females have specific symptoms and risk factors for heart problems which are different than males and are not well-known. These aspects further contribute to CVD being overlooked for other diagnoses.

In my latest post and video, I discuss heart health from a broader, more wholistic perspective for all genders.

Topics include:

– A review of factors that impact heart health

– Specific symptoms in women that are underrecognized as risk factors for heart disease

– How hormonal and digestive symptoms can influence CVD in females

– The overlooked cardiovascular risk factors for all genders: socioeconomics, emotions, and relationships

– Naturopathic and functional medicine considerations for supporting better heart health for females and males

This knowledge surrounding cardiovascular health can help to empower you on which choices you make on your wellness journey, regardless of your gender. *
