When most people think of hormones, they likely think of the three main players: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Although it is true that these are first chairs regarding reproductive health, they are just part of a symphony<\/a> of amazing players. Furthermore, besides fertility, they all have many other vital functions<\/a> in both sexes.<\/p>\n

There are hormone receptors located<\/a> all throughout your body. This demonstrates their system-wide impact. For example, they exist in your blood vessels, kidneys, pancreas, heart, and your brain.<\/p>\n

Many are all too aware of what happens when even one of these instruments are out of tune. This is because hormones control and coordinate<\/a> many functions in the body. These include regulating our metabolism, reproduction, growth and development, responses to all forms of stressors, and mood.<\/p>\n

As you can tell, hormones pack a lot of power<\/a> within the minuscule amounts of them that circulate throughout our body. Due to the impact of these tiny chemicals, their<\/a> production, transport, utilization, and removal from the body have many tight control mechanisms. (R,<\/a> R<\/a>) Hormones are also very specific and act as a key that opens<\/a> the lock into the door of their exact target tissue.<\/p>\n

Our hormones\u2019 delicate milieu can be disturbed by various things. These include inflammation, blood sugar dysregulation, non-nourishing lifestyle practices, and, very commonly, stress. Due to the far-reaching effects of hormones, these factors can cause havoc and result in a variety of symptoms. Therefore, being mindful of keeping interruptions of our chemical messengers to a minimal can help us to avoid the mind-body chaos that can cause such misery.<\/p>\n
