<\/p>\n We are on constant alert 24-7.<\/p>\n Apple watches, work emails, and Instagram have us hooked into our devices first thing in the morning and prevent us from drifting off to slumberland late at night. The result of constantly being \u201con\u201d is that our society is chronically under-slept and highly stressed. This state of constant urgency can result in long-term health issues and hormonal imbalances. Yet, many don\u2019t realize that it also provides many benefits such as controlling inflammation and assisting with fueling our body during heightened arousal. It is when cortisol is constantly elevated that problems can ensue<\/a>.<\/p>\n As a naturopathic and functional medicine doctor<\/a>, I cannot erase \u201cstress\u201d from someone\u2019s life.
