Recently<\/a>, I explored how food can provide powerful nourishment<\/a> to the brain. I discussed specific nutrients for cognitive support and how they can modulate neurotransmitters. I also highlighted two of my favorite natural supplements for balancing mental health, N-acetylcysteine and L-theanine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In my naturopathic medicine practice<\/a>, I often combine a personalized dietary<\/a> approach with individualized supplement protocols<\/a> for my clients to support psychiatric wellness, such as anxiety and depression. Beyond supplying the brain with what it needs physically to thrive, I also assess and address all the factors involved in brain health<\/a>. As a naturopathic doctor<\/a>, I do not believe you can separate the mind from the body. They are connected and must be integrated.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there exists a schism in Western culture between the mind and body. Medicine tends to be siloed, with practitioners only focusing on their specific specialty and not considering the interaction between systems. This will not lead to true mental health balance<\/a>.<\/p>\n
