Children and adults are up against extreme stressors living in our modern world. This time of year, pressure is especially high due to the additional demands of back-to-school combined with concerning world events. With all these troubles, parents, teachers, and kids are being forced to cope with so much more than the back-to-school jitters, packed schedules, and academic pressures.
If not dealt with, these chronic stressors can have lasting ramifications on emotional, mental, and physical health. Our children are most vulnerable to these detrimental impacts because their brains are still developing.
This is why I believe that it is crucial to offer supportive mind-body approaches, which can be used along with conventional psychiatric care, to combat our current mental health crisis.
