‘Tis the Season for Gratitude
Thanksgiving is a time to gather with loved ones to share our blessings. It signifies a day of appreciation for the gifts that we have received in the year passing.
For some, the holiday season is a time of great joy. For others, it leads to feelings of anxiety, isolation, and stress.
With all the loss, trauma, and grief that has happened these past few years, it may be hard to feel thankful. Yet the push to feel gratitude is not just a November movement within the “toxic positivity” realm.
Gratitude is an actual state and practice, and it can bring about many emotional, mental, and physical health benefits. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be a specific month to gain these advantages. Gratitude can be something that is experienced every day.
In my latest post and video, I explore more about gratitude including its definition, its many wellness effects, and tips for enhancing this state of being.
More specifically, topics on gratitude include:
- The different contextual meanings
- The physical benefits
- Its impact on the brain
- The mental health and mood shifts that can occur with it
- Personalizing its practice
- Practical tips to enhance it, including incorporating the sense of smell (with essential oils)
