We’ve been covering some pretty intense topics the past few weeks in my series on diet and wellness culture, food addiction, and eating disorders.
This week, it’s time for a little break.
I’m inviting you to sit back, relax, and listen-in to some scent-sational learning.
We are going to dive into learning more about one of my all-time favorite healing modalities, essential oils, from two of my latest podcast interviews!
First, I had the privilege of being interviewed by the Natural Nurse, Ellen Kamhi, on her show, Herbally Yours. Ellen has decades of experience in teaching and utilizing natural medicine, so it was an incredible opportunity to share radio waves with her.
Next, I had the pleasure of joining one of my favorite former professors, Dr. Zampieron (“Dr. Z”), on his podcast, The Natural Nurse and Dr. Z. Dr. Z is an expert in botanical medicine. He literally taught me the course in it during naturopathic medicine school. What a joy to reconnect with a “master in naturopathic medicine!”
I was truly honored to share my knowledge on essential oils as I gleaned pearls of wisdom from these two amazing educators and clinicians. I have continued to learn from their clinical expertise and wisdom over the years through their educational offerings.
Due to their amazing properties, essential oils are the perfect tool for supporting the mind and body. They can be used synergistically with most integrative and conventional treatments.

This information is applicable ONLY for therapeutic quality essential oils. This information DOES NOT apply to essential oils that have not been tested for purity and standardized constituents. There is no quality control in the United States, and oils labeled as “100% pure” need only to contain 5% of the actual oil. The rest of the bottle can be filled with fillers and sometimes toxic ingredients that can irritate the skin. The studies are not based solely on a specific brand of an essential oil, unless stated. Please read the full study for more information.
