Due to the current events and the resulting trauma, it is becoming essential to have effective strategies in place to help society cope with the negative emotional repercussions. Unfortunately, agreed-upon interventions are still lacking.
In my latest post, I review how these excessive, chronic stressors can rewire the brain and create negative downstream mental and physical effects. Specifically, I focus on how stressors hijack cognitive processing and rational response patterns and allow for survival instincts to take over. This leads to emotional, reactionary, and unproductive strategies that strain our bodies, minds, and relationships.
Recently, I discussed how naturopathic doctors (NDs) have methods to support mental health through their use of personalized, holistic approaches which complement traditional psychiatric methods.* NDs utilize natural methods to support an individual’s brain and bodily health while prioritizing the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.

If you’d like to learn more about how naturopathic doctors are educated, and their in-depth knowledge of integrative and mind-body health, you can read my review of the Annual Association for Naturopathic Physician’s conference on NDNR.
*Note: If you are experiencing suicidal ideation or need urgent attention, it is important to consult with a licensed mental health provider. You can find information at the end of my latest article.
