We cannot separate the mind from the body, nor their treatments. There is an intricate interplay between them. We have an unnecessary schism between the physical and mental in conventional medicine, yet every thought we think creates a biological response.
New research has shown that a holistic approach is most effective for tackling drug abuse. This means using interventions that address the biological, social, environmental and mental health obstacles while treating the substance use.
I believe we need to examine all these factors for any mental or physical imbalance, including coping in a time of crisis. I’ve discussed this concept before when I explored all the brain factors involved in mental health and supporting emotions using essential oils.
In my latest post, “Ten Physical Symptoms That May Stem from Your Brain,” I discuss more why the schism between the mind and body should be erased. I highlight ten symptoms associated with depression that many are not aware of, because they are not just based in the brain. I also provide resources for mental health support, stress management, inspiration, and updates on the current crisis.
