(I was asked to provide an announcement about my naturopathic medicine practice re-opening on this site. Below is a tweaked version of my press release.)
A Unique Combination of Naturopathic and Functional Medicine Returns to Upstate NY
Albany and Saratoga, NY- December 2019- This month, I’m pleased to announce that I will be re-opening my practice to new clients in New York State. After several years traveling, various projects, and teaching, I am excited to be settled back in the local area.
As many of my readers know, I offer a unique combination of naturopathic and functional medicine. These two methods address many chronic conditions in a more holistic way:
- Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct form of healthcare that focuses on treating the whole person, not just organ parts. It aims to get to the underlying cause of the health issue, optimize wellness, and prevent future disease. The naturopathic doctor honors the body’s own innate healing capacity and uses the most natural methods first.
(My latest post explains more on how I incorporate the six naturopathic principles with one of my favorite healing modalities, essential oils.)
- Functional Medicine uses a system-based approach that views all body systems as connected. It also provides integrative wellness care and insight into specific imbalances to offer individualized supplemental and nutraceutical guidance
These two medical models are rooted in an understanding of conventional medicine and how it interacts with integrative therapies. This results in safe and effective wellness outcomes.
More About My Naturopathic Medicine and Functional Medicine Practice
I aim to empower my clients to achieve their health goals using my training as a naturopathic doctor and functional medicine practiticioner and incorporating mind-body medicine, pharmaceutical-grade supplements, nutraceuticals, essential oils, and medical foods.
Perhaps the most important aspect is my relationship with my clients. We work together in a mutually respectful relationship to achieve the wellness results they desire.
Currently, I offer private wellness consultations mostly through telephone. That being said, I also understand the value of face-to-face interactions. For this reason, I’m hoping to open a space that offers in-person office hours in the upcoming year.
What Health Conditions a Naturopathic Doctor Can Help With
As a naturopathic doctor and functional medicine practitioner, I work with people, not a disease label. This means, I see a diverse population of wellness clients. My passion is assisting those with psychiatric disorders by supporting emotional and mental health, though I also specialize in hormonal balance, digestive issues, and Lyme disease.
I hope offer community workshops on using essential oils for emotional and digestive health in the upcoming months. Stay tuned to learn more!
