For the third article that focuses on essential oils for mental health, I continue with discussing the brain enhancing properties of sage essential oil. Sage oil has impressive evidence in experimental studies to modulate the neurotransmitter acetylcholine for enhancing memory. It has also been validated for this effect in humans.
In this latest post, I go into more detail on several studies that demonstrate how the two most available sage oil species, Common sage and Spanish sage, have been shown in clinical trials to positively influence the mind, cognition, and mood. I also discuss doses used in these studies and translate this to practical tips and safe usage for the consumer.
With the safety of this “wise” oil well supported (source, source) and its evidence of efficacy, sage oil is one of my favorite oils to recommend for brain support.
