Tis the season….lights, music, events, sparkle and gifts! Amid the bustle and the glitter it can often be difficult to find something that families can engage in together that combine traditions capturing the spirit of the season.
What came to be was my Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Workshop for kids….real touch , feel, hear and see workshop to put kids into the spirit of this Christmas time of year. Sorry, no computer generated, high technology light show…….just a great time honored story, real live trees, working hands, and tasty hot chocolate! This year the workshop will be held December 19th, 2 sessions 11:00 and 1:00 PM at Dehns Flowers on Beekman Street in Saratoga Springs. The workshop is parent-kid friendly. Kids hear the abridged story by Charles Shultz, select a live tree (they can watch grow at home for years to come), make a tree ornament and take home a pocket version of the story they can re-read any time of the year. We hold the workshops in the Christmas Tree greenhouse, so the sights and smell really give the kids the real time experience….just like Charlie Brown! The hot chocolate is a special recipe of local Chef Brady from 15 Church. We will have Chef’s recipe “to-go” for parents to make and share as part of their own family traditions!
I hope you will join me for this Kids Go Green seasonal workshop next Saturday. Workshop attendance is limited, so you will want to pre-register. Fee is $25.00 for each child with parents accompanying, recommended for Ages 4-10. Call Dehns Flowers to register 584-1880.
