That is, until last week. The staff was kind enough to allow me to do a little exploring, inside and out, and to take all the photos I wanted. That was all the invitation I needed&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/07\/ug20282629.jpg\" alt=\"UG (26).jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" \/><\/p>\n<div>I was stunned by the incredible beauty of each and every corner as I toured this Victorian mansion, beginning with the very peaceful front porch as you enter the building, but was even more impressed by the exquisite attention paid to every tiny detail. They have missed nothing! Step through the front door and you are taking a giant step back in time.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/07\/ug20282529.jpg\" alt=\"UG (25).jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" \/><\/div>\n<div>As quoted from the Union Gables website, &#8220;In 1901, wealthy merchant George Crippen built the Mansion to celebrate his success. Designed by Architect R. Newton Bresee, it rightfully earned its nickname &#8220;Sunnyside House,&#8221; with its many unique features&#8230;The sun cascades through different places in the house during the day so it is always on the Sunny Side.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/07\/ug2028829.jpg\" alt=\"UG (8).jpg\" width=\"293\" height=\"440\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/07\/ug20281029.jpg\" alt=\"UG (10).jpg\" width=\"293\" height=\"440\" \/><\/div>\n<div>I had no idea how to approach this post. The text kept going one of two ways&#8230;either sounding childishly gleeful over every room I entered and every corner turned, or sounding like an advertisement or travel guide. Neither seemed like the appropriate angle.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/07\/ug20281129.jpg\" alt=\"UG (11).jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/07\/ug20281229.jpg\" alt=\"UG (12).jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" \/><\/div>\n<div>I decided to just take you on a little photo tour of all the rooms I visited and explored. You can come to your own conclusions and form your opinions. I will just say one thing &#8212; I LOVE IT HERE! Her children were also raised in Burnt Hills and enjoyed the same Saratoga pastimes. In January of 2014, Gail sold her home of 29 years, headed 22 miles north, and planted herself solidly in the the heart of Saratoga, the area she has loved for a lifetime. An avid photography enthusiast, she now finds herself surrounded by the beauty, history and magic that is Saratoga...all just begging to be photographed and shared. \"It's one thing to have spent my life enjoying Saratoga as a neighboring visitor, but it's a whole new ball game now that I'm actually in the heart of things,\" she explains. \"I am now only minutes away from Yaddo, the racetrack and downtown. The longer I am here, the more I am learning about the history and tourism of this amazing city.\" Join Gail as she sets out with her camera in hand and explores, photographs and shares her discoveries, both in Saratoga and in the surrounding areas.
