It was a spectacularly beautiful morning and I enjoyed the peaceful ride&#8230;lots of horses, lots of farms, lots of sunshine. It felt like the world was still asleep, although it was close to 8:00 a.m&#8230;<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"mem (2).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/05\/mem2028229.jpg\" width=\"293\" height=\"440\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/div>\n<div>&#8230;that is, until I came around the final curve. Cars and motorcycles not only filled the cemetery, but lined both sides of the road leading to the entrance. It was the Annual Flag Decoration Ceremony. Hundreds of people had come for the presentation, and to pay their respects to loved ones who have served our country.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"mem (4).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/05\/mem2028429.jpg\" width=\"293\" height=\"440\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"mem (3).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/05\/mem2028329.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"mem (6).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/05\/mem2028629.jpg\" width=\"293\" height=\"440\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/div>\n<div>The pride and love were evident on the faces of every individual present.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"mem (5).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/05\/mem2028529.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/div>\n<div>Volunteers got busy placing the 10,000 American flags on every Veteran grave.<\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"mem (10).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/05\/mem20281029.jpg\" width=\"293\" height=\"440\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"mem (12).jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/frozen-moments\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2015\/05\/mem20281229.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/div>\n<div>I wandered through the crowds, chatting with people along the way, and listening to their stories about parents, siblings and friends who had served.
