On this gloomy Sunday morning, I am finally getting around to posting some photos I took a couple of weeks ago when I noticed all the rolling fog contributing to what looked to be a particularly spectacular sunrise. I’ve posted several to my FB page, but there were so many great photo ops that morning that I have a ton more that I want to share.
I have to move FAST when I’m trying to capture the beauty of a sunrise and that morning was no exception. I raced to the lake and got a ton of great shots there (which I will post in a few days), then jumped back in the car and tore over to Saratoga National where I thought (and hoped) that the misty fog would be really visible and mystical. It was.
The sky, the fog, the mists, and the lighting changed every minute as the sun slowly crept over the horizon. I was stunned by the beauty and felt so lucky to have been there at that precise time. Sometimes, I honestly feel like I am being led to these particular spots on these particular mornings…not only to capture the beauty with my camera and ultimately share them here, but to be allowed to feel and appreciate the joy of a beautiful morning.
The sunrise was dramatic as it climbed over the treetops and lit the course, burning off much of the fog, but replacing it with a rosy glow that was just as breathtaking.
This morning is very wet and windy…but we really do need the rain. I hope you enjoy the sunny photos for now, there are so many gorgeous summer mornings ahead for us all.
On a totally personal note (and this has nothing at all to do with the blog, other than the fact that it is at SPAC), I am going to see Lady Antebellum in concert tonight and will be enjoying the “VIP Experience” thanks to a very dear and very generous friend who bought me this special ticket as an early birthday present. I’m going to attend a private party with them, as well as a special acoustic set. I am very, very, very excited about this!!!
