Good morning! Yep, that’s me enjoying the sunshine and a wonderful afternoon at Yaddo with some friends last summer on what we have affectionately termed a “photo safari.” More on this in a moment…
I just heard the weather forecast and FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY, our temps are going to jump out of the single digits…straight into the 40s and, dare I say, upper 40s? That’s what the forecast is predicting.
This is such great news! The attitude and outlook of everyone who has been dragging due to the unending and utterly relentless winter should improve as the temps climb. Is Spring finally trying to make its way back onto the scene? I choose to believe it is.
And, to celebrate, and in anticipation of the melting snow and budding trees and flowers, I wanted to share just a couple of photos from last spring. Yes, I’m jumping the gun a little bit, but I don’t really have anything else to post currently (although I do have two exciting posts in mind that I will be working on over the next several days), and it is always so much fun to share the bright, warm, “sunshiny” photos of early Spring.
As I mentioned at the start of this post (and I’m pretty sure I’ve also talked about this in earlier entries), I have two very dear friends with whom I periodically go out on “photo safaris.” They are always a fun adventure, both in and around Saratoga, as well as some outlying areas (for example, the Adirondack Museum and the quirky and awesome streets of New Paltz). We usually pack a picnic lunch (always with wine!!), and set out with our cameras. Not one of us is a professional photographer, but we all love to take photos, to share them, and to enjoy our day in each other’s company.
I’m thinking of doing some open photo safaris and inviting anyone in the area who might be interested to join us. We will select a local destination, right here in Saratoga, of course, and meet with coffees in hand, to set forth on our safari. I’m hoping to get tips and advice from some photographer friends to share as we embark, I’m hoping we get perfect weather, and I’m sure we will have a lot of laughs. It is always fun. And there is always wine for anyone who wants to partake…either as part of our picnic or as a fun finish to our day at any local establishment! It is always a day of tons of photography, and a good deal of hilarity and friendship. I will keep you posted as my plans take more definite shape.
In the meantime, take heart and know that the warmth will begin its return TOMORROW!! I am excited for the weekend ahead. I have lots of plans and the hint of Spring will definitely energize me. Hope it does the same for you.
