About the Artists:
Jeff Elgin is a celebrated artist with a fifty-year practice in drawing and painting. Having taught at Skidmore College from 1968 to 1998, Elgin was a revered professor known for his rigorous yet supportive teaching style. His abstract paintings and drawings, deeply inspired by nature, reveal a profound engagement with his artistic process. Elgin’s work is housed in esteemed collections such as the Dayton Museum of Art and the Albany Institute of History and Art. His current works, created in the past twenty years, continue to reflect his lifelong commitment to art and learning.
Ben Keller began painting at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the craft. Influenced by graffiti artist Barry McGee, Keller has made a name for himself with striking murals across Connecticut and beyond. His fine art, featured in this exhibition, includes portraiture, floral themes, and trains—subjects that bridge the gap between the industrial and the natural world. Keller’s work is known for its boldness and visual impact, merging large-scale vision with intimate detail.
Kate Dee is a talented photographer whose work captures the serene beauty of sunsets, landscapes, and florals. Her photographs invite viewers to experience the natural world through her lens, highlighting the delicate interplay of light and form.
Michael Dudley, the artist and owner of Blue Door Fine Art, creates captivating mixed-media works on copper. Dudley’s artistic journey began with his education at Skidmore College and SUNY Albany, culminating in the establishment of Blue Door Fine Art. His gallery, which continues the legacy of Riverfront Studios, supports local artists and offers a diverse range of original and affordable art.
