One of the traditions of Halloween is carving pumpkins. Pumpkins can be made to look like a jolly Jack-O-Lantern, a scary skeleton, and in this case..a Beloved Dog.
Today while I stopped for coffee, I overheard a lovely women tell the cashier all about the pumpkin she carved as a tribute to her dog. I was intrigued! I had to get more info and possibly a photo.
I followed her to her truck, coffee in hand, and found out her name is Judi. Judi had a wonderful Chocolate Lab, named YOGI, who passed away at the age of 11. She found a pumpkin carving pattern online that reminded her of YOGI and created this fun tribute.
As many of you know, I too have a Chocolate Lab, named Marley. She is 14 years old and still doing ok. Maybe this is why I felt a connection to Judi. I can relate to that love of a “sloppy kisser” in the form of a four legged friend.
May inspiration hit you when carving your pumpkin this Halloween..On a front porch in Saratoga..a candle burns inside a FUN tribute to a dog that is gone but not forgotten.
