BALLSTON SPA – It is hard to imagine any person of any type who could not derive benefits from massage; but it is a safe bet that there is no segment of the population that could benefit more than women who are carrying a child! These “Mom’s-to-be” are carrying extra weight of course, and experiencing all sorts of new aches and pains that are tailor-made for some good pampering and comfort.
Neo-natal massage is one of the many specialties offered by Massage Therapist Sarah Buswell, who owns Buzz Massage – which is housed within the grounds at the Roosevelt Inn and Suites at 2961 U.S. 9, Ballston Spa – just off exit 13N off I-87. The facility in which this massage magic happens truly puts the “Spa” in Ballston Spa – I predict you’ll be quite pleasantly surprised when you visit. Call 518.649.6541 or email Sarah (HERE) to discuss her services and schedule an appointment.
To put the proposition that “Moms-to-be need it most” to the test, I called upon my friend and fitness expert Tonya Robinson, who along with her Husband Nate, are expecting their first child in mid-June. In addition, Tonya and Nate are co-owners of Max Level Fitness + Athletics (see their WEBSITE,) a new adult fitness and youth athlete training facility. Furthermore, Tonya considers herself “a massage aficionado,” getting one once or twice a month before becoming pregnant.
So, Tonya was a perfect candidate to experience this specialty from Sarah. And when we spoke afterwards about her experience (which she estimated was just over an hour long,) you could feel her glowing through the phone. “It’s a great space. And Sarah is very knowledgeable about what she is doing!”
The treatment herself took place “mostly on my stomach” in a custom-designed pillow (see above) that affords the mom-to-be a extra level of comfort, with some additional work while on her side. “She gave extra attention to my shoulders, hands, legs and feet,” Tonya said, “just where I needed it most. It wasn’t a deep, deep tissue thing – I felt pampered, very safe – and extremely comfortable!”
Let me conclude this post with a gentle reminder for you folks reading this – HINT: Mother’s Day is coming! And that certainly includes those “Mom-to-be’s” in your life. I ask you: who deserves it more than them?
