Help ALL Of Maple Avenue Middle School’s Eighth Graders Make The Trip To Nation’s Capital
SARATOGA SPRINGS – When they say ‘all aboard’ they mean ALL…
A great grass-roots fundraiser is happening this Saturday, March 2, and is very worthy of your attention. Entitled “Rockin’ The Road to D.C.,” it was put together by parents and supporters of Maple Avenue Middle School’s Eighth Grade class, with the goal of covering the expenses of their trip to Washington D.C., and assuring that every student and chaperone will be able to go regardless of economic circumstance.
The benefits to students are wide-ranging and substantial. As an event fundraising letter states “Visiting our nation’s capital encourages students to appreciate the people, places, and events that have taken place there and have helped shape our country. They will be exposed to museums, monuments and landmarks that many have only read about in their history classes. They will see documents that represent the ideals of the Founding Fathers and memorials honoring soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice. They will bond with their peers and be able to take those friendships with them into their high school years, giving them a greater sense of community.”
“Rockin’ The Road to D.C.: takes place on Saturday from 7-11 pm at Prime at Saratoga National. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased online HERE..
In addition to the “Prime” setting, the organizers have put together a lineup of great elements that compare favorably to long-standing fundraisers, including:
– Music by Rich Ortiz, Garland Nelson, and Soul Session
– Food and Drink provided by Druthers, Prime, Hattie’s, Salt-N-Char, Flatbread Social, Kru Coffee and more (See the menu below)…
– Open Bar (beer and wine) from open to close
– Silent Auction
So have a great time while helping a great cause. ALL aboard for Destination D.C.!
