Guilt-Free Deli Products From Old World Naturals Made It Happen!
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Before the Thanksgiving holiday, I was invited by my friends at Social Radiant (socialradiant.com) to attend a launch party for one of their clients – Old World Naturals (visit EatNaturalDeli.com) – who were locally producing a line of natural deli products that are now available at the Healthy Living Market.
Being an absolute deli connoisseur, this was a no-brainer. The fact that it was to be hosted in Old World’s extremely stylish test kitchen – right in town at 18 Division Street, certainly made me look forward to it more…
… but when I learned that the Chef for the festivities would be Dan Spitz – whose offerings I had enjoyed this fall at the Feast of the Fields (see POST), well, that certainly clinched the deal.
As expected, Chef Dan was masterful in his presentations (try cold-cut sushi rolls for starters) and the offerings were balanced with roasted vegetable and other creations, which filled out the meal.
And yet, people were there for the deli – and Old World Naturals, with their line of grass-fed, minimally processed and all natural (antibiotic and hormone-free) uncured roast beef, turkey, corned beef, ham, and of course, pastrami – was what put smiles on people’s faces. And there were plenty of those!
And so, mindful of Chef Dan’s mastery over any product he touches, I decided to do some extensive research on my own, to be sure that these products were as good as I was tasting. This involved several trips to Healthy Living Market to buy and taste the offerings from Old World Naturals… I even tried my hand at uncured turkey sushi rolls! While the presentation grade for my work could be charitably given a “meh,” the taste got an “A” from myself and my poker buddies.
As a result, I can proclaim that Old World Naturals helped me achieve a state of bliss that I call “Pastrami Umami.” Try it for yourself, I predict you will be delighted, and be regarded as a ‘hero’ to your friends and family, so to speak…
