OCTOBER 5 FREE EVENT TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH EATING DISORDERS
SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Saratoga Springs chapter of Project HEAL, which aims to provide access to healing for all people with eating disorders, will host its Inaugural Butterflies and Bowties Eating Disorder Awareness Event at 7 pm on Friday, October 5, at the National Dance Museum, 99 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
The FREE event will feature guest speaker Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, a cash bar, dessert, live entertainment and a silent auction, which will include gifts from local businesses. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sponsor butterfly boxes, or care packages meant to inspire and comfort those in treatment for eating disorders.
Saratoga Springs residents Annalise and Cheryl Marron and Stacey Frasier founded the Saratoga Springs branch of Project HEAL as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in March, with a goal of providing support and care for people with eating disorders, and of reducing the cost of treatment.
“Our goal for the event is just to raise awareness of eating disorders, and to let people know they don’t need to suffer alone,” co-founder Cheryl Marron says. “We hope the event will be warm, welcoming, and open to anybody who wants to learn more about our mission.”
