SARATOGA SPRINGS – As noted in our May 17 post (see it here,) – keyboards, storyboards and the Internet were swapped for aprons, spatulas and a hairnet under a program spearheaded by Fingerpaint Marketing to assist families facing summer food insecurity. Operation Lunch Lady commenced with assembly line efficiency and camaraderie on Friday, June 29, at their Saratoga Springs HQ and branch offices.
According to Fingerpaint’s Bo Goliber, well over $16,000 had been generously donated to aid this program by “Launch Lunch Lady” day. Which buys a lot of rice!
This program will ultimately provide 35,000 summertime meals while school is out in the Capital Region. The recipient organization, Food Pantries for the Capital District, will be the distributing the meals. For more information on their programs, or how you can help, visit www.thefoodpantries.org.
