SARATOGA SPRINGS – Well, we know that Lucky (above) feels Lucky. Why not? The pup was made the featured subject of a new book: Lucky’s Adventure in Saratoga, in which her adventurous travels to SPAC, Congress Park, and Saratoga Racecourse, among other places, were chronicled.
And we know that Author Elizabeth Macy and Illustrator Jenn Kocsmiersky are feeling lucky! They put on a great book launch party last evening, July 11, at Sinclair Saratoga (17 Maple Avenue), which was attended by a nice group of friends, family, kids, canines of all shapes and sizes, and their humans.
And all the attendees felt Lucky as well. They were buying raffles, given dog treats or cookies as the case may be, ice cream from Dairy Haus, a vogue opp at Heather-Bohn-Tallman’s Doggie Photo Booth, and enjoying some spectacular evening weather on Sinclair’s multi-level patio.
But the luckiest of all on this Lucky evening was H.O.P.E, or Homes for Orphan Pets Exist. This not-for-profit’s mission is to give animals in Saratoga County and the Southern Adirondacks who are facing homelessness, neglect, abuse or euthanasia, a chance for a wonderful life. Their goal is to find adopters who will provide a lifelong commitment of love and care, making the pet part of their family and to reduce the population of unwanted pets by offering local, low-cost spay/neuter providers.
H.O.P.E. received a generous portion of the evening’s proceeds. Visit their website to learn more.
Yes, everyone felt lucky on this tail-waggin’, bark of approval evening. I felt lucky just to take their pictures! Enjoy the gallery.
AN EXTREMELY LUCKY GALLERY!
