Get Your Skin Summer Ready at Amour New York
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Like many, this past prolonged winter had taken its toll on my skin – particularly my hands. Hours at the keyboard, constant sanitizing and washing are part of many occupations’ necessarary routine to minimize bacteria and keep us as healthy as possible.
But at what cost? I would have run a picture of my hands just a few weeks ago, but I have no desire to gross out my loyal readers… let’s just say that it was not a pretty picture.
I looked around for many answers, and since I always favor a local solution wherever possible (think local honey, eggs and local farms), I was highly pleased to find the answer at the Dead Sea.

I showed Owner Christine Marks my hands, and I really didn’t have to say more. She offered me samples of the various hand creams that they featured. In addition to the Dead Sea minerals, there were four varieties of key ingredients and scents: including pomegranate, coconut/vanilla, olive oil/honey, and avocado.
We decided avocado was a good start, and the first thing I noticed was that it took about 1/4 of the amount to cover the surface of my hands as I would use with conventional hand creams. The cream absorbed quickly, and another pleasant surprise is that it lasted longer – I washed my hands a few times and didn’t feel the need to re-apply. At $12.50 for a 3.52 tube, it should last awhile even with daily use.
But it’s the results you are after, and I have to say that this cream made my hands not only feel smoother from the first application, but healthier and more nourished as I used it more.
While I doubt anyone is going to hire me as a hand model, thanks to Amour New York my hands are no longer are suitable for display on a cautionary poster that reads: Men, don’t let this happen to you!
