Wellspring Honors Positive, Lasting Commitments at Saratoga National
A representative from NYS Senator Marchione’s office delivers a Proclamation of Support for 2018’s Changemaker Award Recipients: The Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association’s President Maddy Zanetti, and Ballston Spa Athletic Director David M. Sunkes Jr.
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Giving a leg up – A boost to some of society’s most vulnerable.
An ongoing commitment to making a lasting difference in local people’s quality of life.
These particular qualities belong to Changemakers.
And it was in support of that kind of commitment that the ballroom at Saratoga National swelled to capacity again on Wednesday, March 28 as Wellspring honored their 2018 Changemakers: Ballston Spa Athletic Director David M. Sunkes Jr., and The Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association.
Wellspring (visit WellspringCares.org) is there 24/7/365 for the people who need it. For those who need comprehensive, supportive services. These are people who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault – and need help immediately. But Wellspring also strives to be a forward-thinking leader, in the sense that they provide prevention education to our community, and advocate for the necessary social change to achieve an ambitious, indeed game-changing mission: To End Relationship and Sexual Abuse in Saratoga County.

A significant, and interesting new (to me, at least) wrinkle in the festivities was the advent of cellphone-based online silent auction bidding: Wi-Fi battles were playing out in real time – pitting friends Lisa and Lisa (in this case) against each other for highly desirable, and sometimes calming, packages!
Well done, everyone!
