Seventh Annual Night at the Brewseum Hits High Notes Again
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Let’s get to the point first and foremost:
This was a superior event, as usual, from the Saratoga Springs Lions – who have every reason to roar. The seventh annual Night at the Brewseum, on Friday, April 20 not only lived up to the high notes set in previous years – it exceeded them in several important ways.
The obvious, and most visible one was the addition of a one-hour VIP craft spirits tasting event featuring vodkas, whiskeys and other spirits from Capital area distilleries – that took place from 5 – 6 pm, preceding the regular event – which was anything but regular.
Indeed, Brewseum’s hallmark is that it has been able to blend beloved local sampling vendors (such as Saratoga Winery, Harvey’s, Druthers, Saratoga Gluten Free Bakery, Common Roots and PJ’s BBQ), with a healthy dose of regional treasures such as Brown’s, and out of market craft brewers, such as our friends from Valcour in Plattsburgh – who you rarely, if ever, see in town.
But the best part – even though it was ‘slamin’ crowded’ from jump street, no one seemed to have to wait on much of a line to get served throughout, and yet those who were inclined could have ‘shop talk’ with their favorite brewers, chefs and distillers. Which is what led to all these happy faces – in front of, and behind the sampling tables.
Last year, I wrote (see Post HERE ) that: ‘I heard this phrase several times tonight: “This is the one I look forward to all year!”’ and it’s just as true today. You want to be at the next one, pure and simple.
