Mystery Event Benefits Gateway House of Peace
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Amateur Gumshoes had a plethora of clues to consider, strewn throughout the classic rooms, nooks and crannies of the Saratoga Arms – as they tried to answer: WhoDunIt? at the Gateway House of Peace’s Murder Mystery event on Friday, March 16.
Kudos to the cast – each of whom had their own motivations for treachery:
Narrator: Mark Hersh
The Actors and their Characters:
** Kevin Veitch (‘Danny McIlroy’- Inn owner) (motive: Wants to kill the greedy banker, who is trying to take the Inn away from him. He seduces the banker’s wife and gets her to do the dirty deed)
** Rebeca Rodriguez (‘Rebeca Johnson’ – Waitress) (Motive: Loves Logan and will kill Molly to stop her from hurting him)
** Rob Sgarlota (‘Mickie Scarlotta’ – Bartender) (Motive: wants to kill Danny because he thinks Danny ruined his chances for a movie career)
** Jeanne Whalen (‘Dolores Jenkins’ – In charge of chambermaids)
** Matthew Reddick (‘Logan Donahue’ – celebrating 1st anniversary)
** Stacey D’Andrea-Goodman (‘Molly Donahue’- celebrating 1st anniversary) (Motive: scheming with greedy banker to kill Logan for the fortune (that he knows nothing about).
** Dave Diggins (‘Branford Matthews III’ – Greedy Banker) (Motive: scheming with Molly to kill Logan)
** Cathy Boucher (‘Elizabeth “Lizzy” Matthews’ ) (Motive: Scheming with Danny to kill her husband)
** Isabelle(‘Isabelle’ – parlor intruder, looking to kill her father, Mickie, who is unaware he even has a child)
** Grace(‘Maria’ – Chambermaid- not happy at work because of the slave like working conditions )
** Willow(‘Stephanie’ – Chambermaid) (Motive: wants to kill Dolores because she treats all of the maids awfully.)
** Everett Smith (‘Charlie’) (never speaks the whole night until the end….. Hmmmmmm…)
** Lilyana Goodman (‘Peter’ – sings Irish songs to lead into every ‘bar scene’… but little does the audience know that he would play a part at the very end.
Mystery solved! The Winners of the event were Mr. + Ms. Nick Dumar. Not sure what they are doing with their lives, but if they ever do a re-make of Moonlighting….
The runners ups were the team of Susan Burns + Harry Bull.
A fun, fun evening. Great job, everyone!
