SOS’s Brighter Days Gala Showcases Success
SARATOGA SPRINGS – If you want to know why the people at Shelters of Saratoga (SOS) work so hard; if you want to know why they get so many vehement volunteers, contributors, and incredible outpourings of goodwill in this town – you need to know Owen and his Story. Those who attended SOS’ annual Brighter Days Gala at Longfellows, on Thursday, March 22 were treated to a triumph of the human spirit – in the form of “Owen’s Story.”
A story of a young man who fully expected to be dead by now. Three years ago, a homeless addict with no hope – who today, by his own hard work and the support structure of SOS, has risen to the rank of Executive Chef professionally, and who has now a young family, and with it – all the reasons to see nothing but brighter days in his future.
Kudos to Fyvie Films for dramatically detailing Owen’s Story: Watch it HERE.
Attendees also were treated to Longfellows’ great cuisine, a wine pull of tremendous size, perused lots of great silent auction items, and enjoyed the gypsy swing tunes from Hot Tuesday from Delmar – first time I had heard these folks, and i’ll be keeping an eye out for them again…
Here’s hoping that the Brightest Days are ahead for everyone!
