Trinity Irish Dance Company to have First-ever Appearance at SPAC on July 30
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Saratoga Performing Arts Center announced that Trinity Irish Dance Company (TDIC) will bring its percussive movements and innovative choreography to Saratoga for its first-ever SPAC appearance on July 30 at 8pm.
“Last year we created an immersive, Argentinian festival around Che Malambo’s performance that resulted in one of the most memorable programs of the season. Due to the overwhelming response from our audiences, we are expanding our program offerings with a continued focus on world music and dance ensembles,” said Elizabeth Sobol, SPAC’s president + CEO. “We are so excited to bring the aerial grace and awe-inspiring precision of the Trinity Irish Dance Company for a performance that is unlike anything that’s ever been seen on the SPAC stage.”
Founded in 1990, by Emmy-award winning choreographer and Artistic Director, Mark Howard, Trinity Irish Dance Company was the birthplace of progressive Irish dance, which opened new avenues of artistic expression leading directly to commercial productions such as Riverdance.

Howard’s award-winning work — fusing the vibrancy of traditional Irish dance with contemporary American ideas — has been met with great critical acclaim around the globe, with sold-out tours in Europe and Asia and appearances in such distinguished US venues as the Kennedy Center, New York’s Joyce Theater and UCLA’s Royce Hall, among many others. Trinity has appeared in feature films by Disney, DreamWorks, Touchstone and Universal and on numerous national television programs including six appearances on the Tonight Show.
The July 30 performance at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, will feature the company’s signature high-flying, quick-footed, athletic, yet artistic dance, set against original contemporary Irish music.
Prior to Trinity Irish Dance Company’s act, at 7:15 p.m. SPAC will present a high-energy, professionally choreographed final performance by 80 local children who have been participating in The Performance Project: Youth in Motion. Led by the award winning National Dance Institute and presented in partnership with the Capital District and Saratoga Regional YMCA’s, SPAC’s Performance Project is a two-week dance intensive designed to teach children dance skills while instilling in them a belief in their own abilities and capacity to achieve success.
Tickets for the amphitheater-only performance are $27, $37 and $57, and will be on sale to the public on Monday, March 26 at 10am at spac.org.
