Businesses Answer Call To “Glow Red For Women” – Saratoga Springs Mayor To Issue Proclamation This Afternoon
SARATOGA SPRINGS – On January 28, we reported (See Post HERE )that Saratoga residents Dr. Joy Lucas and Hope Plavin – this year’s co-chairs for local activities for February’s American Heart Month – were asking businesses to light up their locations (“GLOW RED FOR WOMEN”). At that time, about a dozen businesses had taken the pledge to do so.
Well, the magic team of “Hope and Joy” have obviously worked overtime, as well over 70 Capital Region entities, about half in Saratoga Springs, have answered the call and Glowed Red beginning last evening! In alphabetical order, those making the Glow Red pledge are:

Today, February 2nd is National WEAR RED FOR WOMEN Day, and among other activities, on the steps of Saratoga Springs City Hall (one of the illuminated buildings at 474 Broadway, Saratoga Springs), Mayor Meg Kelly, along with Commissioner Michele Madigan, will proclaim the day Wear Red Day. They will be joined by representatives from some of the 38 Saratoga businesses that are embracing the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease in women, as well as Dr. Joy and Hop, who are both Saratoga Springs residents. The public is invited.
